Domain

Starlit-Seas.net was first opened around March of 2002, I believe. I called it a combination LOTR/personal site. What that really meant was that all the layouts would be LOTR, and I would have some random LOTR-related graphics and such. It was pretty much a personal site, though, and it housed my blog. Then I got tired of restricting myself to LOTR layouts, so I made it a personal site only. Not long after that I moved my blog to its own site, which has since been closed. I finally got tired of not updating and feeling guilty, so I made the domain into a low-maintenance collective. S-S.net is hosted at SiteFlip.com and the name is registered with E-starr.net.

The Name

While trying to come up with a good domain name, I flipped through The Lord of the Rings. I came acros an Elven hymn to Elbereth and the lines, "O Elbereth! Gilthoniel! / We still remember, we who dwell / In this far land beneath the trees, / Thy starlit on the Western Seas." I thought that would make a good domain name.
